THE VOCALIST

Dynamic and Inspiring, Gospel vocalist Marvia Providence has done something very few Gospel artists have been able to do; she has pierced the mainstream by bringing her island rhythms and fresh sounds to the music scene
.
Born and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica, Marvia immigrated to Canada in 1976 and though she’s been singing Gospel since the young age of 8, she did not realize her divine purpose in life until 1985 when she fully committed her life to Christ. It was music that led her to find her own voice in the vast arena of Gospel, thus thrusting her into what is now a growing and successful career.

Marvia’s musical style is heavily influenced by the warm sounds of the Caribbean to the traditional sounds of Southern Gospel. Her soulful and sometimes raspy voice has woven its way through the tapestry of Gospel music, weaving a picture of hope and passion for her listeners.

Though she is no stranger to the industry, her first recording as a solo artist came in 1992 with The Toronto Mass Choir on their album “Great is thy Glory”. But it was in 1994 that Providence received recognition and released her first album “Too Much to Gain to Lose” which catapulted her gospel music career. Her talent and ability to capture an audience and lead them into worship, has brought her to several countries around the globe such as the United States the UK, the Cayman Islands, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos, Tortola, the Bahamas, Guyana, St Vincent, St. Kitts and Anguilla. She has shared the stage with ministers and artists such Paula White, Bishop Ellis, Kirk Franklin, The Grace Thrillers, Papa San, Chevelle Franklin, and various renowned Artists.

  THE EVANGELIST

Marvia Providence has been influencing audiences for many years as a Gospel Artist, now, armed with he Word of God and a message of hope; she is fulfilling her divine mandate as an Evangelist.

Born and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica, Marvia immigrated to Canada in 1976. She did not realize her divine purpose in life until 1985 when she accepted and fully committed her life to Christ. Though singing has led her to a successful and still growing musical career, it was while on stage in Jamaica that was divinely led, to do more than just lend her melodic gifts. In 2001, she became a licensed Minister while working on her Bachelor's in Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario. In 2002, Marvia graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies. This has helped to better equip her in delivering the message she whole hearted believes God has given her for this generation.
Anointed to Evangelize, Marvia has also shared the stage in several conferences with other great Ministers such as TV Evangelist Paula White, Eddy Long, John Francis, Sheryl Brady, Beberly Crawford, Bishop Neil C. Ellis and many other great men and women of God, ministering the Word.

Her passion for people and seeing the spiritual needs of others causes her to always give back to her community. She volunteers her services to several local churches and charitable organizations as the needs arise ranging from Praise and Worship Seminars to empowering and impacting lives with the Word. Marvia was also part of a group of caring artists of the "Explorer Company," who spent a day with trouble students in a Toronto inner city school. That event has touched the hearts of many, and to show their appreciation, the group was presented with a plaque from the Toronto School Board for their contribution.
Marvia has always known she would be in front of many, but she did not imagine it would be from her own ministry. As she continues to impact and touch lives through music as well through inspirational speaking, taking the Gospel to the nations is a mandate she will not fail to fulfill.
